ReWork: Our CCOV Keynote

and Our Presenting Sponsor!

ReWork believes that no one should have to choose between making money and making a difference; that organizations working day and night to improve people’s lives deserve the most talented, committed, and passionate professionals out there to support their efforts; that the world would be a better place if the best thinkers and doers of each generation defined their success not based on the pay or prestige of their jobs, but on how big of an impact their work has on other people’s lives.

Join ReWork for their CCOV Keynote, "What Talent Want: Understanding Your Most Valuable Asset"

Sneak Peak: As a society we have a lot of work to do when it comes to social, cultural, and environmental challenges.  And working to solve those challenges is a really meaningful thing to do.  We're experiencing a shift in the workforce where people are looking to derive a sense of purpose from work more so than we've seen before.  Likewise, there's an entire economy of organizations whose entire reason for existing is to impact these huge societal challenges we face.

For these organizations, the most valuable asset they can leverage towards their ambitious goals to make the world a better place is not their brand, their capital, or their location; it's the individuals who sit on their teams -- their talent, their people. Understanding how talent--namely, top-quality professionals who desire a sense of purpose from their work--perceive their careers and make career choices will determine your ability to get them to join your team.

Retiring the concept of a "career ladder": The career ladder is an antiquated concept for top-talent seeking meaningful work who are much more likely to be compelled by calls to "follow their passion" and are seeking a breadth of experiences to equip and differentiate them among other talent. Instead, we (ReWork) present the concept of a "field of stepping stones" that are leading in a general direction towards a "North Star" (i.e. a meaningful career).  Each job, entrepreneurial project, volunteering experience, etc. represent a stone moving someone towards that North Star.

Each step is less about a high-level goal and more about micro-decisions about the right move in the moment that'll bring them closer to meaningful work.  We define meaningful work as a combination of Legacy, Mastery, Freedom, & Alignment (during the keynote we could go into detail describing each of these components of meaningful work).

Learn how to apply these concepts to volunteer recruitment, your career, and much more ... join us on October 13th!
