Our Annual Fund
Marlene Wilson has made many things possible for all of us, and we will always be indebted to her. It’s not often that you get to meet the mother of volunteer management!
- Jackie Norris
Our Annual Fund is dedicated to the legacy of Marlene Wilson. Who Is Marlene Wilson?Marlene Wilson is a local Boulder, Colorado resident who brought volunteer engagement and volunteer management to light as a critical and foundational position for nonprofits, community building, and successful program implementation. Through Marlene's mentoring, workshops, and constant commitment to our profession of volunteer management, thousands of volunteer managers' careers have been impacted and made better by her work and dedication. Her service to this field has been so influential that we all feel the positive affects today, even if we are unfamiliar with her name or her work.
More from Jackie Norris during the 2015 ceremony, "It’s hard to resist saying a few thousand words about Marlene Wilson ... I will always treasure and value the three levels of volunteer management workshops facilitated by her that I attended years ago in Boulder; the opportunity to get to know her and benefit from her wonderful sense of people and her valuable experience and wisdom; the opportunity to know her better through our involvement in our professional associations; and to know her personally as our own Colorado guru of volunteer management."
